Jerry is the Partner in Charge of the Tax Practice of WBLI. He has been a tax specialist
since 1982, joining WBLI in 1987 to establish the firm’s tax practice. Jerry assists the
firm’s clients with a diverse range of taxation challenges ranging from tax
planning matters to complex issues involving a senior tax perspective. Jerry also
works in the business valuation area, setting values for businesses for the purpose
of sale, partnership negotiations or legal proceedings. He has served as an expert
witness on matters related to taxation and valuation.
- Jerry is very involved in the community and the profession. He is a Past President
of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia.
- Jerry is also Past President of Oakfield Golf & Country Club and Past President
of the Victorian Order of Nurses.
- He has been involved in the community through coaching minor sports and having been Past President of the Rocky Lake Recreation Association.
- Jerry has published articles and given media interviews on taxation matters.
- He has instructed taxation and valuation courses at the university level and for
the Atlantic School of Chartered Accountancy.
- He is a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Public Accountants Board of
Nova Scotia.
- He is a board member and Chair of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
- Jerry is a board member of the Ron Joyce School of Business, MTA
- Jerry is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and
Estate Practitioners.
- He was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia in 1981
and awarded the Institute of Chartered Accountants highest honor, the Fellow
Chartered Accountants designation in 2003.
- Jerry graduated from Mount Allision University in 1979 with a Bachelor of
Commerce degree granted with Distinction.
