Partner, Taxation, Valuation, M&A and Litigation Support

Bill is a partner of WBLI Chartered Accountants. He is heavily involved in servicing
owner-managed businesses and professionals. He specializes in taxation, business
valuation and litigation support service areas as well as providing general business
advice and corporate finance advice on M&A transactions. Bill also plays a lead role in the firm as Chair of the firm’s marketing committee.
He leads our business valuation and litigation support practice having appeared as an expert witness on numerous occassions.
In the professional community Bill has played a leading role through involvement
with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and the Canadian Institute
of Chartered Business Valuators.
Bill has also been very active in a family owned business organization called
CAFE (Canadian Association of Family Owned Enterprises - Nova Scotia Chapter) as
a Board Member and as Program Director. Bill received special recognition from CAFE
for his dedication and commitment to the growth of the organization.
- Bill has lectured on taxation and business valuation matters throughout Atlantic
Canada and other parts of the country. He has also participated in local and national
publication of articles, newsletters and books on taxation and business matters.
- He has provided expert testimony in business, taxation and valuation matters at
the Supreme Court level in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
- His combination of specialized taxation and business valuation skills are a valued
resource around the negotiation table on national and international mergers and
acquisitions.
- He is active in the community and currently is the Vice-Chair of the Cobequid Health Centre Foundation Board of Directors.
- Bill is a member of Joint Taxation Committee of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

- Received the FCA designation in December 2011 (The Fellow Chartered Accountant designation is the highest honour awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
- He received his CF (Corporate Finance) designation in 2008 recognizing his experience on advising clients in merger and acquisition strategies.
- Bill received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1978 and his Chartered
Business Valuator designation in 1992.
- He is a graduate of Mount Allison University where he obtained a Bachelor of
Commerce (Honors) (1976).
